How to order you canvas print

Here at The Big Art Company we don't believe in asking our customers to order before they know exactly what they are getting so we offer a free proofing service via our dedicated canvas printing website -Print It On Canvas.

This simply means that rather than paying us and blindly sending your photo over with fingers crossed we encourage you to first send over your image and discuss the kind of canvas print you are after. We will then provide you with some digital examples cropped, coloured and edited so that you can get a feel for how the canvas print will turn out. Only at this point do we ask for payment and you can be rest assured that you know what you will be receiving.

The ordering process:

1) Choose your image (see below for information on choosing the right image)

2) Send us the image online or via the post with your canvas size choice and any other information

3) We send you some digital mock ups within 24hrs (Mon- Fri)

4) You approve the examples, finalise payment and we get to work on your canvas

5) 3-7 working days later you receive your canvas

Selecting the right kind of image

Choosing the right image for your canvas print is the most important part of the whole process. If you send in a great photo a canvas print will only enhance it so follow the guidelines below to help you in your selection.

Photo Size

The bigger the better is the simple rule. If you are sending in a digital photo then send the largest size copy of it you have available. Most digital cameras nowadays are around around 4-5 megapixels which means that each photo you take is made up of 4-5 million little dots of colour. At a very small print size these dots are so small that you can't see them and they blend together to form the photo image. Image you then took your small image and made it much larger - each small dot would now be much bigger and the photo would get to a point where you could start to make out individual dots (this is called pixelation). We will of course advise you on how big you can print your photo without it getting pixelated but to avoid dissapointment always leave your camera settings on the highest quality.

Camera phones

Camera phones are getting more and more popular but unfortunately their quality is still way behind that of dedicated cameras. As well as the images being small (see above) the colours tend to be quite grainy and don't make for very clear canvas prints. They can still be good fun though and a great way to remember a special moment.
